The Government presents the audited financial statements for fiscal year 2023
On July 5, 2026, Sin Comillas reports that the Government announced the issuance of the Audited Financial Statements for fiscal year 2023. The publication, according to the outlet, makes it possible to keep updating the issuance calendar for those statements. The secretary of the Department of the Treasury, Ángel L. Pantoja Rodríguez, is the one who details the figures. Sin Comillas names him that way. This magazine copies that page.
For fiscal year 2023, Ángel L. Pantoja Rodríguez said, the primary-government statements showed total assets and deferred outflows of $36,516 million and total liabilities and deferred inflows of $79,363 million, including public debt. The component units, the public corporations, showed assets and deferred outflows of $40,651 million and liabilities and deferred inflows of $46,363 million. Against fiscal year 2022, primary-government revenues rose by $1,830 million and expenses fell by $3,465 million. In the General Fund budget, revenues, together with approximately $134.5 million in transfers from the Puerto Rico Lotteries, totaled approximately $12,972 million, exceeding expenses of $12,878 million by approximately $94.4 million. Those results, he said, matter because fiscal year 2023 already contemplates the obligations and debt-service payments after the March 2022 Plan of Adjustment.
"Our focus now is the issuance of the fiscal year 2024 financial statements. That process is practically completed, with the exception of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority audit," Ángel L. Pantoja Rodríguez held. That exception stands. This magazine does not close 2024 or audit PREPA.
These 2023 figures are not the $13,174 million General Fund that El Nuevo Día covered on July 6, 2026 for the budget now underway, nor the $635 million surplus of year 2025-2026 that Ey Boricua dated July 1. Three documents, three years, three URLs. The reader who wants the audited statements has the Sin Comillas URL at the foot.
