Borinquen Made

About the magazine

What this magazine is

Borinquen Made is a history magazine in Spanish that walks the history of Puerto Rico in a single order of time. Freeze 2026-08-22.

This magazine tells the history of Puerto Rico from the island's first peoples to the present, in a single sequence ordered by the time of the events, not by sections. Each entry appears once and reads inside that continuous row: from the Taíno past to the centuries of colony, from the transfer of the island to the United States to the recent decades.

The cover invites you to choose a period of years and read those entries separately. Each period has its own page, so nothing needs filtering in the browser: the links are pages, not buttons.

The magazine keeps the two Jones acts distinct: one grants citizenship in 1917 and the other regulates cabotage in 1920. It never merges them into a single phrase. The death counts of Hurricane María are presented in layers, never as a single number. The magazine does not say the Taíno people became extinct, and it does not treat any count of the storm as a closed figure.

The figures, the laws, and the dates stay where they were. This page invents no laws, deaths, decimals, or new periods. Freeze 2026-08-22. Not current events in the History essays; News is. Not original historical research.
