The Board certifies the revised FY2026 budget as imposed

On June 30, 2026, the Fiscal Oversight Board publishes that it is certifying the amended fiscal year 2026 budget. It certifies it as imposed. The clip's dek names the disagreement: the governor and the Assembly did not agree on the municipal-road rules. The year's close is not a handshake. It is the body writing the number.

The figures the release sustains are the same ones NotiCel will put in a political headline the next day. Thirty-five million dollars by miles, condition, and ability to pay. A rate reserve of $222 million. Education, $90 million. Coffee, $33 million. The quartet stays as the body published it on June 30, without a fifth line the text does not bring.

On July 1, NotiCel recounts that roads, coffee, and special education made the 2026 budget an imposed one, and underlines the warning that imposed is not the same as balanced under PROMESA. That same July 1, in another release, the Board says that revision can still count toward exiting PROMESA if the independent audit finds FY2026 balanced on modified accrual. Three texts in 24 hours. Three functions: certify, explain the fight, reserve the 209.

The FY2027 certificate is another piece. On June 29, a day earlier, the Board had certified $33.6 billion for the year that was starting, the second joint budget, with a General Fund of $13.2 billion. Robert F. Mujica Jr. said it was a step, not the exit. June 30 does not reopen that consolidated total. It closes the year that is ending, without a roads agreement.

Governor Jenniffer González Colón and the Legislative Assembly did not agree on the rules. The Board certified. Miles, condition, and ability to pay are the criteria the body names for the $35 million. This magazine does not draw the municipal map or declare how many kilometers are paid. The figures are those of the June 30 release.
