Jenniffer González Colón announces 12,957,500.36 new FEMA dollars
On June 8, 2026, Governor Jenniffer González Colón announces the obligation of 12,957,500.36 dollars in federal FEMA funds for reconstruction, infrastructure repair, public services, and grant management tied to Hurricane María, the 2020 earthquakes, Hurricane Fiona, and Tropical Storm Ernesto. She thanks Donald J. Trump and Homeland Security secretary Markwayne Mullin. She cites work by PRFAA, COR3, municipalities, and agencies.
The breakdown La Fortaleza publishes: Lares, 1,093,587.73 for the Guajataca Bridge (María); Barranquitas, 6,690,572.67 in permanent reconstruction (María); Guayanilla, 852,501.26 in roads, ditches, and slopes (2020 earthquakes); Departamento de Educación, 466,864.79 in schools (Fiona); Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica, 607,566.11 in emergency protection (Ernesto); San Germán, 182,814.57 in roads (Ernesto); San Lorenzo, 1,318,832.99 in roads, culverts, and slopes (Ernesto); Río Grande, 482,658.12 in drainage and surfaces (Ernesto); Utuado, 306,053.29 in grant administration (Ernesto); Corozal, 515,764.52 in grant management (Ernesto); Comerío, 101,290.37 in administration (Ernesto); Mayagüez, 133,211.96 in administrative costs; Villalba, 205,781.98 in administration (Ernesto).
The ledger had named Isabela among the municipalities; this page names Lares, not Isabela. What La Fortaleza put is copied. A municipality the release does not list is not added. On June 12, another La Fortaleza URL announces more than 51 million from FEMA: another cut, another sum. The two obligations are not joined in a single pot.
Nor is this 12.9 million used to verify the June 5 TSA or the 123.3 million of the Mayagüez plant. They are disaster funds, distinct lines. What remains is the total 12,957,500.36 and the thirteen named line items.
The reader who wants the project worksheets has to go to FEMA and COR3. Here the source is La Fortaleza. This is not original reporting.
