The Junta certifies the UPR fiscal-plan revision with minimal adjustments
On June 6, 2026, El Nuevo Día reports that the Junta de Supervisión Fiscal certified a revision of the Universidad de Puerto Rico fiscal plan with minimal adjustments. This desk's ledger records the scope: the Junta incorporates 2026-2027 projections; the account says the certification ignored data submitted by UPR and the government, and that it demanded a later comprehensive version. The body sat behind the subscription wall. What remain are the headline and that reading.
This is not the six-page June 18 letter in which Robert F. Mujica Jr. tells Jenniffer González Colón that UPR's FY2027 budget violates the fiscal plan, with a deadline of June 24. Microjuris published that violation with another URL. Plan certified on the 6th, budget in violation on the 18th: two acts. Nor is it letter 12633 of June 5, which extended 9,822,441 dollars of FY2019-FY2020 internships. A training remainder is not a fiscal plan.
On June 22, Metro recounted that the House put 60 million of UPR in the General Fund, inside 560.8 million. On the 18th, Microjuris had already warned that those 60 million legislative dollars are not recurring. This June 6 note does not use those later figures to rewrite the certification. The plan comes first; the budget, after. Jenniffer González Colón appears in the June 18 violation letter as addressee, not as spokesperson of this June 6 piece: El Nuevo Día covers the Junta, not a La Fortaleza release.
There is here no faculty cut nor a student number El Nuevo Día put in the visible fragment. What remain are the minimal adjustments, the 2026-2027 projections, and the demand for a comprehensive version. The URL is at the foot. This is not original reporting.
