Mixed reservoirs: Carraízo decreases; La Plata rises 11 cm

On September 12, 2026, Primera Hora reported the 5:00 a.m. monitoring by the Aqueducts and Sewers Authority (AAA): the main reservoirs woke up with mixed results after 24 hours.

Carraízo dropped 1 centimeter, to 39.19 meters, and remains at observation level, approaching the safety threshold of 39.70 meters. Subscribers supplied by that reservoir are still under rationing, according to the report. La Plata, on the other hand, rose 11 centimeters — the biggest increase of the day — to 44.95 meters, at adjustment level and 2.75 meters from the safety threshold that starts at 47.70 meters. On Friday it had lost 10 centimeters.

The rest of the AAA report, according to Primera Hora: Cidra steady at 400.27 m; Toa Vaca −1 cm (147.20); Río Blanco and Carite unchanged; Fajardo −1 cm; Patillas −22 cm (largest drop); Guineo −1 cm; Matrullas +2 cm; Guayabal −3 cm; Garzas −4 cm; Guayo +5 cm; Lucchetti −9 cm; Loco −2 cm; Dos Bocas −19 cm; Caonillas +4 cm; Guajataca −3 cm; Cerrillos −4 cm.

The note also recalls that the cloud seeding technique, contracted in 2026 for $400,000 with the same company, did not produce significant rains for Carraízo, La Plata, and Cidra.
