The AAA will evaluate extending Carraízo rationing; González Delgado denies it will become inoperable

On August 31, 2026, El Vocero reports that Luis R. González Delgado, AAA chief executive since March 2025, told Hoy Día Puerto Rico, on Telemundo, that the Authority will evaluate extending interruption periods once Carraízo reaches the control level. «It is not that it becomes inoperable, that is not correct.» The Drought Executive Committee meets Monday. The Carraízo plan has been in force since August 7. On Monday, Zone 1 with water, Zone 2 without; the change, at 6:00 a.m.

El Vocero prints Carraízo at 37.14 meters, La Plata at 44.67, and Cidra at 400.06. El Nuevo Día, the same 31st at 6:42 a.m., in its daily monitor, puts Cidra at 400.96. Those are two elevations. No winner is chosen. They are not averaged. El Vocero's 400.06 is internally consistent with Saturday's 400.04 plus 4 centimeters. El Nuevo Día adds that 14 of 19 reservoirs rose: Carraízo, 7 centimeters, to 37.14; La Plata dropped 5, to 44.67.

On Sunday, El Nuevo Día left Carraízo at 37.07: seven centimeters from control. This note does not rewrite that one. What remains is an evaluation of periods, a «not inoperable», and two Cidras. A reader who wants the Telemundo interview has the El Vocero URL at the foot. This is not original reporting.
