Politank still has not paid the DDEC fines and asks for reconsideration

On August 20, 2026, El Nuevo Día reports that lobbying firm Politank still has not paid the eight administrative fines issued by the Department of Economic Development and Commerce after detecting failures to meet the basic requirements of filing annual reports. Carlos Ríos Pierluisi, DDEC secretary, said so. That is the signature the newspaper prints in this note. It is not replaced by another name from other days. It had until this Monday to complete payment of the penalty after an extension; it has now filed a reconsideration. The full body of the page was truncated when opened. What was published in the excerpt and the dek is copied: eight fines, reconsideration, and 80,000 dollars for Act 60 reports.

El Nuevo Día's photo caption recalls another layer. At a committee of the whole, Francisco Domenech swore he had sold the firm to former colleague Manuel Torres Nieves, but the Incentives Office found that Politank did not ask DDEC to transfer the preferential tax treatment. That phrase is from the caption. It is not turned here into a count of shares or a verdict on the sale. Carlos Ríos Pierluisi appears as the secretary who reports the nonpayment. Francisco Domenech appears in the caption. Two people, two roles.

Eight fines and 80,000 dollars are not broken down line by line in the excerpt. A 10,000 per year or a list of missing years that this URL did not keep on screen is not invented here. What remain are the nonpayment, Monday as the deadline after an extension, and the reconsideration that replaces the disbursement, for now. This note is also not used to read Jenniffer González Colón's New York trip or the Act 60 extension through 2055 that Caribbean Business dated August 25. Politank is a concessionaire and some fines. Act 60 at the NYSE is another thread.

On August 14, Primera Hora covered Vicky González Vega acting at AAFAF after Francisco Domenech left. That is another agency. This is DDEC and Politank. On August 24, Metro and El Nuevo Día cover IntegraPR arrears with vendors. That is not pasted either. A nonpayment of incentive fines is not an ERP invoice backup.

Anyone looking for the deficiency notice, the decree, or the reconsideration motion has to go to DDEC and to El Nuevo Día. What remain are eight fines, 80,000 dollars, Carlos Ríos Pierluisi, and a Monday deadline that was not paid. This is not original reporting.
