The PIP files to cancel Genera and investigate AES
On August 20, 2026, NotiCel reports that the PIP filed measures to cancel Genera PR's contract and investigate the future of AES. The pieces named are RCC 390 and RC 780. Denis Márquez Lebrón, according to the note, ties Genera's contract to the New Fortress bankruptcy and asks for light on AES coal.
Adrián González Costa, in that coverage, puts a figure on AES: $655.4 million of the project not covered by possible Department of Energy money. It remains to be seen, he says, whether that sum falls on the AEE or on ratepayers. That fork is his. The charge is not decided, and no DOE disbursement the note does not confirm is invented.
On August 18, La Perla del Sur — in a note whose fetch was blocked by Cloudflare — covered experts warning that New Fortress is wobbling and that the government has no plan B. Rolando Emmanuelli Jiménez, in that snippet, said creditors can accelerate debt; NFE admitted in writing that the pact could fail; Genera and NFEnergía are not protected by Chapter 15. The PIP, two days later, takes Genera and AES to the floor. Two dates and two genres: an experts' warning and measures filed.
On August 26, El Nuevo Día covers the cut to Genera's operating budget, from $345 million provisional to about $278 million. On July 31 and July 20, the same newspaper covered the fines over the reserve units. Neither the cut nor the fines are these resolutions. The PIP asks to cancel and investigate. The Negociado, in other notes, cuts and fines. The verbs are left where each source put them.
There is no articulated text of RCC 390 or RC 780 in the confirmed facts beyond those measure numbers. Nor a vote count. The filing is the fact. AES coal and the New Fortress bankruptcy enter as the frame Denis Márquez Lebrón and Adrián González Costa did name. The reader has NotiCel at the foot.
