The AAA will give bill credits for water rationing
On August 18, 2026, Primera Hora reports that Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority customers affected by the water rationing set since August will begin to receive a credit on their bills for the days without service. Corporation president engineer Luis González said so on Radio Isla 1320. He ordered the credit calculated for each rationing zone, taking into account the days without drinking water. He did not specify how much each customer's credit might be. That absence is copied: a dollar per day is not invented.
Zones affected by deficient water service, duly certified, receive a deficient-service credit on the bill, he said. He also could not specify an exact date. He previewed that some customers might see the adjustment in late August or early September. Rationing for those supplied from the Carraízo reservoir, according to Primera Hora, began on August 7 and affects sectors of San Juan, Trujillo Alto, Carolina, Canóvanas, Loíza, Gurabo, and Juncos. Seven municipalities. Towns are not added.
On August 6, El Nuevo Día covered that same 48-hour rationing and placed some 180,000 Carraízo customers. Primera Hora, on the 18th, does not repeat that customer figure. It is not pasted here. On August 4, NotiCel had previewed 24-hour interruptions from Friday for seven municipalities. On the 7th, Caribbean Business spoke of more than 500,000 residents facing rotations. Three dispatches, three magnitudes. This note leaves the credit as Primera Hora left it: no amount, with a window of late August or early September.
A deficient-service credit is not a drought subsidy or a disbursement from the emergency reserve. On August 26, El Nuevo Día covers another thread: more than 26.2 million dollars in government spending on the drought and an extension of the reserve through September 10. That is another date and another source. On the 18th, the fact is the order to calculate credits that engineer Luis González announced on radio.
Anyone looking for the zone certification, the credit formula, or the notice on the bill has to go to the AAA and to the Primera Hora piece. There is no tariff here. There is a promise of an adjustment, an approximate calendar, and the seven municipalities of the Carraízo rationing the outlet named.
