The AAA board denounces a lack of communication and joins the Drought Committee

On August 12, 2026, El Nuevo Día reports that members of the AAA Governing Board denounced to Governor Jenniffer González Colón a lack of communication with executive president Luis González Delgado, vacant key posts, and a headless board. They raised it, with the directors of the Mayors Association and the Mayors Federation, at La Fortaleza. The governor chose to include a board member in the weekly Drought Committee meetings. Javier Bayón Torres will represent the body; in his absence, Rafael López Soler.

Verónica Rodríguez Irizarry, of the Mayors Association, said they raised the lack of an operational vice president and the vacancies. Ángel Morales, of the Federation, did not return the newspaper's calls. Both are board members and chose not to stay for the press conference, after Jenniffer González Colón indicated that those who felt uncomfortable could leave. At that conference, with the remaining four members, the governor limited herself to speaking of drought, personnel, and direct communication.

On the vacancies, she said the posts have been offered without success, in particular the operational vice presidency. A consumer representative is also missing. Asked whether the complaints show unease with Luis González Delgado, she replied that it can be interpreted in different ways.
