LUMA leaves more than 65,000 customers without power for lack of generation Monday night
On August 11, 2026, El Diario PR publishes its Tuesday index. The most concrete public-action thread on that page is the LUMA Energy load shed: Monday night left more than 65,000 customers without service; hours later, some 26,000 were still without power for insufficient generation. The company also announced scheduled maintenance through Friday, August 14, that could cause temporary outages in as many as 30 municipalities. That is one digest note, not nine. The URL is one: the day's index.
The same page lists other headlines from that Tuesday. DACO, through Hiram Torres Montalvo, reiterated that restaurants and prepared-food businesses may not charge a water fee; fines reach 10,000 dollars. Tourism and DDEC raised incentives for affected tourism businesses and SMEs to 10,000 dollars. The Financial Oversight Board questioned higher excise taxes in 22 municipalities - fifteen charge 10 percent on government-financed projects - for the risk to federal reconstruction funds. A measure seeks to cut water losses to 30 percent by 2031, with modernization of Carraízo, dredging, and cistern incentives.
Also on that page: Lourdes Gómez Torres announces a Specialized Investigation and Security Office at Justice, with no posts or budget published. GUIA cuts the 2026 auto-sales forecast despite a slight July rise. La Plata drops some 20 inches in a week; Luis González Delgado rules out immediate rationing and reduces pressures. The fiscal board has been investigating, since June, alleged fraud in the 400-megawatt contract with Power Expectations, after Enchanted Rock denounced unauthorized use of name and signature. Those items are in the index. They are not turned here into separate notes or invented URLs.
On August 11, El Vocero covered, at another URL, a 24-hour UIA stoppage against the AAA. This piece does not rewrite that kernel. On August 5, El Nuevo Día covered the Supreme Court's 5-4 on LUMA. The load shed of more than 65,000 is another act, another night. On August 15 and 16, El Nuevo Día and Telemundo Puerto Rico will cover EcoEléctrica and AES outages with other customer counts. Those are other dates.
Anyone looking for each clip linked in the index has to open El Diario PR. This magazine does not split that page into nine notes. What remains is the load shed, the maintenance through the 14th, and the rest as lines of the same digest. This is not original reporting.
