The court stops the cancellation of Physician Correctional's contract
On July 22, 2026, NotiCel reports that Physician Correctional, in charge of administering and providing correctional health services, said the Court of First Instance granted a provisional remedy in its favor in the litigation over Contract number 2024-000-062. The court ordered the defendant to refrain from putting into force or executing any new contract for the medical services the company offers under the contract in force, while the alleged breach and the request for specific performance are litigated.
The determination, according to the order the outlet reproduces, seeks to preserve the current state of the contractual relationship until the merits are adjudicated. Physician Correctional must post a $3 million bond in fifteen days. The remedy takes effect once it accredits that requirement. The company's representatives were not available to react, according to NotiCel.
This magazine does not turn the order into a verdict on the quality of service in the prisons or into an inventory of inmates. The contract number, the bond, and the pause on a successor contract stand. There is no judge's name here, nor the contract's annual amount, because the note does not put them down.
The thread is not mixed with the $20 million for nonprofit entities awaiting signature on July 21, nor with the special-education debts APPSSRE will denounce on the 24th. Correctional health, community impact, and unpaid therapies are three tables. Here it covers the provisional remedy.
Physician Correctional speaks by statement; the defendant government does not answer in this piece. The reader who wants the order has the NotiCel URL at the foot. This is not original reporting.
