Customers in six municipalities could receive a rationing notice, the governor says
On July 15, 2026, NotiCel reports that Governor Jenniffer González Colón said, in a Facebook broadcast, that in the coming days customers in six municipalities may receive water-rationing notices because of drought. "The most vulnerable areas are barrio Jagual in San Lorenzo, the Comerío area, Río Grande, Canóvanas Loíza and Cidra, those six areas," she said. That means, she added, that between the following week and the last week of July those areas could receive an AAA notice of an observation plan or of an interruption, "because this obviously is based on a projection." The monitoring, she said, would run from the Monday of the following week until possibly the last week of July, and the director of Acueductos would notify it.
She reported, separately, that customers of the Finca Rosso Uno Filter Plant will not have service on July 29 and 30. The director of Acueductos, according to her, was coordinating with the mayors of Bayamón and Guaynabo the repair of two pumps that exploded last year. That two-day job is not the drought rationing. They are two calendars in the same broadcast. She had a follow-up meeting with the Drought Committee at La Fortaleza.
On July 6 the 48-hour rationing in Río Grande and Canóvanas had already started. On the 7th, OE-2026-032. On the 8th, the prolonged-drought frame. On the 16th, NotiCel announced that rationing in those two municipalities would resume the next day. This list of six areas is another step. It is not collapsed with Guzmán Arriba nor with the 180,000 in the metro area. The reader who wants the broadcast has the NotiCel URL at the foot.
