The Junta signs off on the budget: it complies with the certified fiscal plan
On June 27, 2026, El Nuevo Día reports that the Junta de Supervisión Fiscal signed off on the 2026-2027 budget approved by the Asamblea Legislativa, determining that it complies with the certified fiscal plan. Yaritza Rivera Clemente bylines the piece, at 12:06 p.m. The dek names Robert F. Mujica Jr., executive director of the PROMESA body, and a communication to the Executive. The visible caption says Mujica expects Governor Jenniffer González Colón to submit the budget no later than Monday June 29 at 8:00 a.m. The full body was truncated when it was opened.
This desk's ledger records, from that same letter, that the budget remitted June 25 is consistent with the 2024 Second Revised Fiscal Plan, under section 202(f) of PROMESA, and that the governor's signature is asked for that 29th at 8:00 a.m. There is in the visible fragment no line-item breakdown nor a yes or no on line-item vetoes. Those vetoes El Nuevo Día would recount on the 29th, with another URL.
This June 27 sign-off is not the 33.6 billion dollar consolidated certification of June 29, a kernel already published on this desk. Nor is it the imposed FY2026 certification of June 30, another kernel. Robert F. Mujica Jr. speaks here of the legislative General Fund budget that House and Senate moved between the 22nd and the 26th. Three Junta dates, three acts. They are not flattened.
Eddie Charbonier Chinea had said on the 26th, via Metro, that on the 26th the Junta should certify compliance. El Nuevo Día dates the sign-off to the 27th. Neither the representative nor the newspaper is corrected. What remain are the consistency-with-the-fiscal-plan quote, the 8:00 a.m. hour, and the subscription wall. The El Nuevo Día URL is at the foot. This is not original reporting.
