Jenniffer González Colón announces community cisterns in public housing
On June 17, 2026, from Washington, D.C., La Fortaleza reports that Governor Jenniffer González Colón announces the installation of community cisterns in public housing. The release attributes the initiative to the Administración de Vivienda Pública, with federal funds, and places it as support during potable-water interruptions, in coordination with the Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados. The cisterns, La Fortaleza says, will be about 1,000 gallons.
The pilot plan starts at the Las Margaritas housing project, with 22 cisterns. Then Las Casas, with six additional cisterns and a federal investment of 80,000 dollars.
