The Board reiterates stagnation for fiscal year 2026

On May 14, 2026, NotiCel reports that the Fiscal Oversight Board reiterates a pessimistic forecast heading into the fiscal year then coming. The dek specifies the message of the FY2026 second-quarter report: local growth will stay flat. Stagnation is the headline's word. Flat is the dek's. They are not translated into a GDP rate the clip does not bring.

The spending figures the clip does list are from the General Fund: $4,833 million, 9 percent below forecast, a difference of $471 million. There are, besides, $226 million already incurred but not reported. The risks the note names are Medicaid, federal cuts, and capital without a market. Employment points are not added, nor an oil price. The underspending and the unreported amount are copied as NotiCel attributed them to the Board.

Weeks later, the fiscal calendar fills with other notes that do not rewrite this quarter. On June 29, the Board certifies $33.6 billion for FY2027 and Robert F. Mujica Jr. talks of audits, Medicaid, and education. On June 30 and July 1, FY2026 closes as imposed over roads, coffee, and the rate. On August 14, El Vocero covers three quarters down in the DDEC's IAE, with a fight over whether that is a recession. May spoke of flat. August speaks of 126.8. A single curve is not forced.

On June 17, La Fortaleza puts Jenniffer González Colón asking for permanent Medicaid before the U.S. Senate, with more than 1.3 million dependent. In May, Medicaid was already a risk in the quarterly report. June's ask and May's risk are layers, not a ceiling quantified in this row. The May clip does not bring the cap in dollars.

NotiCel dates the reiteration. The report is FY2026 second quarter. Spending runs $471 million below and $226 million is incurred without reporting. This magazine does not turn the 9 percent into a celebrated saving or into a cut in services. The figures are those the source published. Capital without a market is left as a named risk, without an issue size.
