Dolly remnants will give Carraízo relief; they will not end rationing

On August 30, 2026, at 3:25 p.m., El Nuevo Día reports, by Gloria Ruiz Kuilan, that Dolly's remnants will give Carraízo relief, but will not end rationing or the extreme drought. Ernesto Rodríguez, of the Drought Committee, speaks after the weekly briefing at Fortaleza. Dolly, according to that page, has already degraded to a tropical wave. The Committee meets Monday. This note is dated the 30th. It is not moved to the 31st.

El Nuevo Día puts a maximum of 2 to 4 inches against a basin deficit of 8 to 10. NotiCel, the same 30th, at another URL, prints 1 to 3 inches through Monday night, with eastern areas up to 4, and puts 44.5 percent in extreme drought. Those are two rainfall versions. No winner is chosen. They are not averaged. The 44.5 is NotiCel's. The D3 of 33.3 that El Vocero still carried Saturday is not mixed in here.

On the 29th, El Nuevo Día described a rainy Sunday in the east: Dolly remnants in the east. On the 28th, González Delgado said Dolly was unlikely to move the plans: AAA: Dolly does not change rationing. This note does not rewrite those. What remains is relief that does not close the drought, two inch ranges, and a Committee on Monday. A reader who wants Rodríguez's phrase has the El Nuevo Día URL at the foot. This is not original reporting.
