"If it can be canceled, let it be canceled," Jenniffer González Colón says before the Board's vote

On August 13, 2026, El Nuevo Día puts in the headline Governor Jenniffer González Colón's phrase on the temporary-generation contract: if it can be canceled, let it be canceled. She speaks before the Fiscal Oversight Board's vote. She goes after the body for taking 10 months. She defends Osvaldo Carlo Linares. The contract, in this note, is around $5,887 million over 10 years.

The Public-Private Partnerships Authority and the energy czar, according to the newspaper, referred 3PPO findings to Justice and to the federal prosecutor's office. The Board, that Thursday, was still evaluating. Jenniffer González Colón compares the episode with the LUMA extension, which she describes as having no expiration date. That comparison is not turned into a ruling on LUMA. The contrast she published that day is copied.

The contract figures do not line up across outlets, and they are not flattened. On August 14, on its own site, the Fiscal Oversight Board says it revokes a $5.9 billion contract, for 10 years and 400 MW. On August 21, El Nuevo Día covers Proskauer defending the revocation before the 3PPO and speaks of $5,887 million. That same 21st, NotiCel picks up Jenniffer González Colón speaking of a contract that exceeds $5,800 million. On August 24, El Nuevo Día cites Pablo José Hernández Rivera's letter to the Department of Energy with $5,900 million. Four layers. Four dates. One docket, no average.

On August 21, NotiCel also dates that Jenniffer González Colón will demand accounts and does not rule out striking down the 3PPO contract, and that she will summon the AEE, the APP, and Osvaldo Carlo Linares. On August 13 she still defends Osvaldo Carlo Linares and speaks of canceling in the conditional. The arc is the notes', not that of a single tale. Power Expectations reserves the right to go to court, according to El Nuevo Día of August 21; that procedural reservation is not in the August 13 clip, and here it is named only as a later layer.

Before the vote, Jenniffer González Colón says to cancel if it can be done. The next day the Board votes. This magazine does not reconcile 5,887 with 5.9, nor turn the 10 months of delay into an internal Board calendar El Nuevo Día does not publish. The figures are those each source published.
