CRIM will destine $7 million to identify owners of unassessed properties
On July 29, 2026, NotiCel reports that the executive director of the Municipal Revenue Collection Center, Javier Cintrón García, will destine $7 million to identify owners of unassessed properties, including those labeled John Doe and the seedbeds. The CRIM Board chair, Jesús Colón Berlingeri, has said the project would begin in August and that there could be up to 55,000 homes whose owners are unknown. NotiCel's headline speaks of 55,000 properties; the body, of homes. Each layer is copied.
According to El Nuevo Día, NotiCel cites, CRIM calculates that San Juan has 3,797 properties without an owner, Ponce 2,527, and Utuado 1,762. Those with the fewest would be Florida, with 201, and Culebra, with 23. Javier Cintrón García, to Foro Noticioso, says a countless number of properties are not in the tax system and are provisionally recognized as John Doe. He urges people to validate that the parcel does not figure that way. If it is identified as John Doe, one must present a deed or registry certification; if it is a principal residence, LUMA and AAA certifications and a sworn statement. The exemption is evaluated in regional offices.
CRIM aspires to collect up to $25 million by reselling these properties. That figure is the note's. This magazine does not turn it into an inventory of auctions. On July 9, Radio Isla covered that CRIM exposed Social Security numbers of a million people. That is another act, of cybersecurity. It is not used to verify these $7 million.
Javier Cintrón García and Jesús Colón Berlingeri speak; Jenniffer González Colón does not appear. The 55,000, the $7 million, and the $25 million in collections stay attributed. The reader who wants 787-625-2746 or the regionals has the NotiCel URL at the foot.
It is also not mixed with the inventory tax that CUD summoned to eliminate on July 28. Cadastre and stock excise are two municipal bases. Here it covers the John Does.
