The House concurs with the Senate: 13,180 million for FY2027
On June 26, 2026, Metro Puerto Rico reports that the Cámara de Representantes concurred with the Senate's amendments to the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget, 13,180 million dollars of the General Fund. Hacienda commission chair Eddie Charbonier Chinea said the changes were agreed between both legislative presidents and with the Junta de Supervisión Fiscal, whose advisers "were present at every moment." "They were not major things." The balanced budget, he adds, takes effect July 1. Metro illustrates with Carlos Méndez Núñez and Eddie Charbonier Chinea.
Charbonier Chinea stressed that the Legislature met the term the Junta set for June 25, and that both bodies have until the June 30 session close for adjustments. He said that on June 26 the Junta must issue a PROMESA-compliance certification; otherwise the budget would return to the Legislature. "I do not think there is any problem." That forecast is his, not the sign-off El Nuevo Día would recount on the 27th with a letter from Robert F. Mujica Jr.
Metro lists Assembly appropriations: 20 million dollars for social-welfare, health, education, and culture nonprofits; 4.7 million for municipal projects with gambling-machine revenues; about 2.8 million for infrastructure, schools, recreation, and potable water; 1.35 million for permanent improvements and rural infrastructure; and the one-dollar transfer of the landfill lands to the Municipality of Culebra. It also mentions 5 million recurring for SER de Puerto Rico operating expenses. On June 24, the Senate page had figured 4,728,265.90 dollars and 50 percent of the Comisión de Juegos balance. Metro rounds to 4.7 million. A winning decimal is not chosen: who published what is named.
This House concurrence is not Jenniffer González Colón's June 29 signing nor the Junta's 33.6 billion consolidated certification that same 29th, a kernel already on this desk. What remain are the 13,180 million, the 25th deadline, and the line items Metro put. The URL is at the foot. This is not original reporting.
