The Junta approves 7,288,277 dollars for permanent improvements in 17 municipalities

On June 11, 2026, Governor Jenniffer González Colón announces that the Junta de Supervisión y Administración Financiera approved 7,288,277 dollars for permanent-improvement projects in seventeen municipalities. The money comes from line items under custody of the Oficina de Gerencia y Presupuesto in the certified FY2026 budget and from FY2025 remainders. The process, La Fortaleza says, was competitive under Special Memorandum 008-2025: 34 municipalities submitted 50 proposals; an OGP committee evaluated them for compliance, viability, impact, execution capacity, and population reach.

The municipalities named: Aibonito, Añasco, Arroyo, Barceloneta, Barranquitas, Caguas, Cidra, Corozal, Dorado, Guayama, Hatillo, Naguabo, Sabana Grande, Salinas, San Germán, San Lorenzo, and Toa Baja. The release does not break out how much each carries or which work won. Orlando Rivera Berríos, in the quotes La Fortaleza attributes to him, speaks of an objective process and of progress and closeout reports. The funds are only for the authorized purposes.

The same 11th, another La Fortaleza URL covers the Superacueducto credits. Two announcements, one day: water in the metro and municipal capital. On June 4, Añasco and San Sebastián had already received paving from another 94 million package. That paving is not subtracted from these 7.3 million. On the 8th, FEMA obligated 12.9 million to other municipalities; another federal window.

The Junta's condition, via OGP, is to comply with memorandum 008-2025. There is no jobs count here, nor a map of the 50 losing proposals. What remains is the 7,288,277, the 17 names, and the 34 city halls that competed.

The reader has La Fortaleza. This is not original reporting. On June 4 Añasco had already appeared in the PR-402 paving; here it returns in the list of seventeen without its own amount. Memorandum 008-2025 is OGP's, not a statute this note cites article by article. What remains is the 7,288,277 and the names.
