The alternate president of the State Elections Commission (CEE), Jessika Padilla Rivera, chaired the plenary of electoral commissioners in which the candidacies of the political parties and independent aspirants were officially certified for the elective offices of the general elections and the political-status plebiscite consultation.
Among the validated candidacies for governor are Jenniffer González Colón for the New Progressive Party (PNP), Jesús Manuel Ortiz González for the Popular Democratic Party (PPD), Juan Dalmau Ramírez for the Country Alliance between the Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP) and Movimiento Victoria Ciudadana (MVC), and Javier Jiménez Pérez for Proyecto Dignidad. For resident commissioner in Washington, Pablo José Hernández Rivera (PPD), William Villafañe Ramos (PNP), Ana Irma Rivera Lassén (MVC-Alliance), and Viviana Ramírez Morales (Proyecto Dignidad) were certified.
Alternate president Jessika Padilla Rivera reported that the CEE intensified oversight of the General Voter Registry and the technical-performance tests of the electronic vote-counting system provided by the contracted company. Campaign-committee representatives agreed to redouble civic orientations on the requirements for requesting early voting and absentee voting.
