The Board will not cut money to municipalities for the coming year
On May 22, 2020, El Nuevo Día reported that the Financial Oversight Board, in a letter, said Central Government transfers to municipalities would remain at $132 million, the same as the prior year, as a measure amid the economic crisis caused by COVID-19.
According to the accessible kicker of the primary, the Board will not cut those transfers to the municipalities because of COVID-19 or the January 2020 earthquakes.
This desk does not invent the full text of the letter, the breakdown by municipality or other budget line items: the rest of the primary’s body sits behind a subscription.
Keeping transfers is not an increase. A Board letter is not a municipal disbursement.
