Daily monitoring: the La Plata reservoir reports an increase of 14 centimeters in 24 hours
The La Plata reservoir reported the largest increase in recent days, rising 14 centimeters between Sunday and Monday, September 14, wrote Keila López Alicea in El Nuevo Día. In this way, the reservoir reached 44.40 meters and remained under the category of 'operational adjustments'; it must exceed 44.90 meters to enter the 'observation' level.
For its part, Carraízo reported an increase of two centimeters and reached 39.16 meters, which is why it remains under observation. Given the improvements reported by this reservoir, the public corporation has put the rationing plan that was established at the beginning of August on pause and has not yet specified whether it will be activated again.
In total, seven of the 19 reservoirs monitored by the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) reported increases in the last 24 hours; nine recorded decreases and three did not experience changes. The Cidra reservoir remained the same, at 400.26 meters, and could drop again in operational adjustments if it falls below 400.23 meters.
The reservoirs of Carite, in Guayama, and Guineo, in Orocovis, also remained the same. In addition to Carraízo and La Plata, increases were reported at Matrullas in Orocovis (1 cm), Garzas in Adjuntas (5 cm), Guayo in Lares (7 cm), Lucchetti in Yauco (4 cm), and Caonillas in Utuado (4 cm).
The level chart published by the AAA at 5:00 a.m. on Monday feeds the daily monitoring of drought in the metro area and the decision to maintain or resume scheduled water interruptions while the rains continue.
