Vocero: 13 embalses sobem; Carraízo fora de ajustes; pausa de racionamento semanal
On September 9, 2026, El Vocero reported that 13 of 19 AAA-monitored reservoirs rose. Carraízo gained 19 centimeters to 39.02 meters (5:00 a.m.) and remains under “observation,” out of operational adjustments. La Plata fell eight centimeters to 44.32 meters (adjustments). Cidra rose two centimeters to 400.18 meters (adjustments). One-day improvement ≠ drought closure.
El Vocero recalls rationing begun August 7 for about 180,000 customers (San Juan, Carolina, Trujillo Alto, Loíza, Gurabo, Juncos, Canóvanas) when Carraízo fell below the operating threshold. The governor announced a September 1 pause — first 48 hours; after Tuesday’s Drought Committee at La Fortaleza, Carlos Pesquera said the pause is extended and reviewed weekly, with no anticipated Carraízo/La Plata changes at least until the following Monday.
It also listed other risers (Toa Vaca, Río Blanco, Fajardo, Patillas, Guineo, Matrullas, Guayabal, Garzas, Guayo, Caonillas, Guajataca) and falls alongside La Plata (Lucchetti, Loco, Dos Bocas, Cerrillos); Carite unchanged. Rationing pause ≠ end of drought; bulletin ≠ independent hydraulic audit. Primary: El Vocero 9 Sep 2026.
