"Debí tirar más fotos"
Debí Tirar Más Fotos — roughly, "I Should Have Taken More Photos" — is Bad Bunny's sixth solo studio album, released on January 5, 2025 through Rimas Entertainment, a day before Puerto Rico's Three Kings Day. After years of expanding trap and reggaeton on the global stage, the album turned inward, toward the sounds Bad Bunny grew up with.
The record mixes plena, jíbaro, salsa, and bomba — traditional Puerto Rican genres with generational roots — alongside reggaeton and house, rather than treating them as separate categories. Some of its lyrics address directly Puerto Rico's territorial political status, along with gentrification and the loss of cultural identity: themes that tie the album back to the gentrification tensions of Acts 20/22 and the growth of the diaspora this blog has already traced. Its single "DtMF" topped both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Hot 100, proof that the introspective, tradition-rooted turn had not cost it commercial reach.
Bad Bunny followed the album with something he had never done: a concert residency. Announced on January 13, 2025, "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" was his first residency, and the title alone read as a statement: an artist who had spent years becoming a global star choosing to plant himself at home rather than tour the world.
The residency ran from July 11 to September 20, 2025: 31 dates at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, a venue where Bad Bunny had already broken ticket and attendance records in previous years. Thirty-one nights in a single building, in a single city, is a very different scale from a world tour, and for an artist whose 2016 origin began with uploading songs online from Vega Baja, choosing to mount the victory lap of his most personal album entirely in San Juan closed a circuit of nearly a decade.
